Fixing leaks in dams has always been a stressful venture. Not only are current methods expensive and slow to yield results. They often will resort to “trial and error” methods that may further strain the integrity of the structures rather than fix it.

These sensitive instruments coupled with our field specialists, collect data all along project parameters. Using points collected in the data we create 3D models of the subsurface allowing us to gain insight on flow paths of the current leaks, potential issues arising if no remediation is done and finally predicting the effects that remediation may have going forward.

Nearly all of our investigations can be performed using existing wells or piezometers (an instrument for measuring the pressure of a liquid or gas). This mitigates any need for expensive and time consuming drilling.
By energizing the water from one side of the reservoir to the downstream leak we can measure and map the induvial pathways the water takes. Once fully identified we can show this data in 2D and 3D allowing for clear steps forward in remediation.
Often our models are so clear that our customers will even use them for their “as-built” maps.
Having near real-time insight into the health of dams, reservoirs, canals (or other water features) allow us to tailor and modify our investigations as needed. Giving owners and operators to quickly make decisions based on our state of the art data collection rather than walking blindly towards possible solutions.

In much the same way that a dentist compares current x-rays with earlier ones, we create the possibility of our clients comparing the results of past Willowstick investigations with current results. This gives them the capability to gauge the effectiveness of remedial work, categorize the level of current concerns and determine the level of risk facing the dam, reservoir or canal.
Performing these investigations at regular intervals allow for a more comprehensive understanding of the health of the dam than what has been previously possible.
