Mr. Kennedy is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Willowstick Technologies a technology company that maps, models, and predicts groundwater paths and patterns. He is also the managing partner of Double Eagle Ventures, a private venture fund targeting early stage investments. Double Eagle Ventures has been the seed stage investor in TenFold, Overstock.com, iDirect, Neumont University, Imagine Learning, American School Academy, and Remedy Informatics. From December 2003 to October 2014 he was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Remedy Informatics, the leading provider of registries for Life Sciences Research and Healthcare Delivery organizations. He served as President, and Chief Executive Officer of TenFold Corporation a software applications developer. From 1993 to 1996 Mr. Kennedy served as Mission President for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of PRC, Inc., a systems integration company. Prior to joining PRC, Mr. Kennedy served in various management and executive positions at Oracle Corporation from 1982 until 1990. His positions included National Sales Manager, Senior Vice-President Oracle Corporation and President of Oracle USA. He was one of the first few professional employees of Oracle Corporation. Prior to joining Oracle, Mr. Kennedy served as a Marketing Manager for Intel Corporation. Mr. Kennedy holds a B.A. in finance from the University of Utah and a Masters in Business Administration from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Val O. Kofoed, P.E.
President & Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Kofoed is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Willowstick Technologies, a technology company that maps, models, and predicts groundwater paths and patterns.
Mr. Kofoed has been involved with Willowstick Technologies from its conception.
His major responsibilities include directing Willowstick’s engineering operations, developing new technology, building and testing Willowstick instruments, ongoing research and development activities.
Mr. Kofoed possesses over 30 years’ experience and has provided technical service and consultation for numerous water resource projects and clientele. Prior to joining Willowstick Technologies, Mr. Kofoed spent 20 years (1984 to 2004) with SEI (a civil engineering consulting and survey company) where he served as a principle engineer and Vice President from 1987 to 2004 helping guide the company from four employees to almost 200. His primary role was Director of the Water Resource Division. He also managed corporate resources ensuring that projects were completed within the established schedule, budget and meeting SEI’s quality control processes to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
Mr. Kofoed holds a B.A. in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University and is a registered professional engineer.
Director of Business Development
Mr. Gardner is the Director of Business Development of Willowstick Technologies, a technology company that maps, models, and predicts groundwater paths and patterns. Val has been involved with Willowstick since 2008, directing the company’s Sales, Marketing and Business Development efforts. Today, Willowstick’s innovative technologies and services are changing the way organizations identify and gain intelligence on their groundwater related problems. He is responsible for developing relationships with potential clients and partners, as well as seeking out new business partners and ensuring that existing clients receive substantial value from their Willowstick project.
Val is an experienced and successful sales professional with over 18 years of experience in corporate sales and marketing environments. He holds a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Utah and is a member of Association of State Dam Officials (ASDSO), National Groundwater Association (NGWA), Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration, Inc. (SME) and American Exploration & Mining Association (AEMA).
Sr. Staff Geophysicist
Mr. Jessop is the Sr. Geophysicist of Willowstick Technologies, a technology company that maps, models, and predicts groundwater paths and patterns. Michael has over 10 years of experience providing expert support for geophysical technologies in the exploration and characterization of water resources for hundreds of Willowstick Geophysical Investigations around the world. He specializes in developing and using 3D models to understand and predict probable groundwater flow paths mapped with the Willowstick® Instrument data. Michael also oversees a team of geophysicists who assist him in developing the next generation of Willowstick technology.
Mr. Jessop has significant experience and expertise using and interfacing multiple technical and computer software and hardware including: ArcGIS, Matlab, C, Visual Basic, and software/hardware interfacing with specialized geophysical instrumentation to streamline data acquisition and processing. He has also developed code and streamlined processes for modeling and inversion of geophysical data.
Michael has worked with and directed crews on geophysical field surveys including magnetics, resistivity, and induced polarization methods. Michael earned his MS in Geophysics from the University of Utah in 2005 while working with the Consortium for Electromagnetic Modeling and Inversion (CEMI). Michael earned his BS in Geophysical Engineering from the Montana Tech, University of Montana in 2002.
Director of Finance
Bryan Karren has been with Willowstick Technologies since July 2007. He is Director of Finance at Willowstick Technologies and prior to that was controller of the company. He is also a leader of Amp Capital Partners, the majority owner of Willowstick. Prior to joining Amp, Mr. Karren was Controller of Knight Avante, a manufacturer of child play areas for shopping malls for six years. Mr. Karren is a CPA and has a BS in Accounting from Utah Valley University and an MS in Accounting and Financial Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management.
